From the Galapagos Islands of the Pacific Ocean, this is a rare batfish. Resembling funny-looking humans with their crooked noses, huge round eyes and big red lips, these fish come out only at night and hang out solitarily on the ocean sandfloor.
They even have what resembles arms and stilts as feet, but they still have fins, gills and a tail. (Alas, I cannot take credit for the batfish pictures as I didn't take them. Still looking to invest in a good underwater camera!)
