At the Bondi South American festival, we had another brazilian drumming gig (since Bondi is brazilian central anyways -- so many brazilians around here!). The festival had lots of markets outside, south american food inside and of course lots of performances.

Here is Jean, our drum leader, ready to get started.

We have shakers, tambourims, snares, timbal, djembe, rapinique, surdos and cowbells (agogos?).

Jean motions by a hand signal what set we are to play next and we jump right in without a pause.

This is the symbol for the hiphop set... one of my favourites !

It was a very very hot day that day... as you can see from my very red face.

At the end of our set, many of us usually break out into dancing while we're playing.
