We went fishing in the Cuyabena rivers for pyrahnas.
I caught a fish that liked the piece of red meat that we used as bait. Not a pyrahna though.
Rich caught a bigger fish from the same family.
Finally, among the six fish we caught, our canoe driver caught a pyrahna. We steamed them and enjoyed them for dinner. Tasty.
This plant is called achiote. Inside the fruit you will find a bright red paint that indigenous groups use to paint ceremonial designs on their faces.
Richard, though looking rather unimpressed, looked very "one with nature" with his achiote design. (He really did like it)
