Some of the graffitti across Mexico's buildings were pretty creative and interesting. I captured my favourites.
This one certainly leaves an impression on you.
This Mosaic Mural is a portrait of rural people saying "This community has said ENOUGH!" What a powerful message!
The following is a series of the souvenirs I have seen and/or taken home. This colourful fantasy creature is one of many in its series and is one of the more normal looking ones.
The typical colourful blanket from Mexico is a nice souvenir to add colour to anyone's home.
These carved wood shapes lay flat and then twist to create a standing fruit bowl.
I saw this magnificent and intricately decorated plate in a museum -- but alas never in a store.
Mexico has lots of straw figurines, particularly in towns across the state of Michoacan.
The Jesus figurine on a wooden cross was fabricated only with utensils. Truly a creative piece!
Another intricately designed plate with a fish motif.
This odd wooden stick is actually a hot chocolate mixer/frother. You mash up the chocolate with the thick end and then you make it spin in the cup to froth it up!!! This was purchased in Oaxaca, the chocolate centre of Mexico.
This funky orange-yellow butterfly pattern on a black background will hopefully one day be sown onto a pillow.
Chocolate -- A must for chocolate lovers around the world! Note that Mexican chocolate crumbles easily, is very sweet (it is made with granular sugar that is not melted) and has a nice cinnamon taste to it!
Mole, a rich chocolate-based gravy used on chicken and enchiladas. This is as Mexican as you can get for food!!!
Eric purchased this cool lizard shirt in Cozumel, Quintana Roo.
From the Northern states of Mexico comes this interesting Huichol Bead art.
Also made by the Huichol Indians are these portraits made of bits of painted straw.
This jaguar wood carving reflects some of the pre-colonial art in Mexico.
