I love the gaping-shark-mouth entrance to the Aquarium. It seems to scream "prepare for an exciting underwater adventure".
The Platypus... is a tough mammal to take a picture of since it moves around almost all the time. Click on the link below the "back / next" text so see a video of the platypus swimming.
It can hold it's breath for about 10 seconds while hunting for food.
Platypus are actually able to lay eggs and have their young suckle their milk. There are only two animals known to man that are able to do this (the hedge-hog like echidna is another). Both are found only in Australia.
This crayfish was showing off his six-pack to all the aquarium visitors.
His huge claws definitely gave him some respect.
This is a mud skipper. It's a fish that is able to hop on land to get from one pond to another. Check out the video below to see him jump.
These curious catfish had fun posing shyly for my camera.
I couldn't get over how long this turtle's neck was.
I always wanted a picture of a duck from underneath the water.
These squid are awe-inspiring. You can watch them for hours.
They glide back and forth in the water. Using their fins almost like humingbird wings.
If you look at the video below, you can see they are even translucent under certain angles.
