We visited a friend's cottage in the south of Western Australia (3 hours south of Perth) for the weekend. It was an amazing and large place.
Here is the kitchen area of the cottage.
Here is the gang. Left to right, we had Dallis, Amanda, Chris, me and Malcolm.
All the houses around here were made of panelling, no brick houses needed.
We went to the coast near Yallingup and found this beautiful rocky shoreline.
I just loved the patterns on the rocks.
And we even found a crab hiding in a hole near the water!
The views were beautiful and the air refreshing.
We visited a place that displayed wooden chainsaw sculptures. I'm worried about a man who is that good with chainsaws.
Malcolm and Amanda raising a toast to a fun day full of country side viewing and wine tasting.
The setting sun shines a golden light upon the beach in Prevelly, another small town near Dunsborough.
The sun set was beautiful to watch against a peaceful setting of lapping waves and the sandy beach.
Ok, some of the waves were barrelling instead of lapping. These were the biggest waves I had seen so far. And I have been told, they get much bigger than this.
We took advantage of the sunset light for some dramatic and artsy poses.
Another day at the beach, just a two minute walk from the cottage.
Some interesting -- if not colourful -- plant life growing on the sandy beach.
