Coogee Beach is not just one of several beaches that lie near or in Sydney, it's one of the best ones here.
Part of the appeal of Coogee and certainly what makes it unique is this enclosed pool of water adjacent to the beach.
This area is surrounded by sandstone platforms which are also great for catching some rays... without getting sand everywhere.
You can get a pretty big wave in the face unexpectedly if you stand too close to the edge of the rock.
And if you're tired of sitting and floating around, you can jump around on the rocks surrounding the outcrop. Just keep an eye out for big waves, as I mentioned earlier.
Lots of nice rocks for climbing around or sitting away from the crowds.
Here's a nice place for a picnic !
Just on the other side of the natural pool is a beautiful collection of coastal cliffs.
Always on the lookout for people caught by surprise by the surf.
