This is the glorious end of the walk from Taronga Zoo Ferry Dock to Balmoral Beach. Balmoral beach is beautiful and scenic, especially on such a sunny day.
I love the cute little bridge.
And of course the lovely island it is attached to.
Very scenic... even the sea gulls are cruising.
I still get excited when I see palm trees out here in Sydney. They feel so exotic to me.
Love the trunk of this palm... see how the trunk looks as a result of the branches falling off as the tree grows. It makes the most delightful pattern.
A 2 foot wide termite nest on a tree.
I like the shape of this tree.
This "dieback" mold issue seems to be pretty serious.
With all sorts of signage around preventing it.
Multi million dollar properties line some parts of the walk.
And an old fort.
City line on a misty day... it's funny how much Sydney weather can change in a day.
These massive spiders, which can be up to 2-3 inches in diameter, are called Golden Orb spiders.
They are found in bushes along footpaths and often in webs a meter or two above your head.
They aren't lethal... but they do bite (like all spiders do) and are scary as hell !
