The beach at Barcelonetta (a small corner of Barcelona - very near the aquarium) is amazing for a city beach. It is very European (read: topless) and the water is surprisingly warm... and from my brief experience the sun always shines on this beach!
Here is my friend Jeff stubbornly soaking in the sunshine and the water.
Ahhh Tapas... for those who are familiar with dim-sum... this is the spanish version of a series of bite-sized goodies... and voila, a light dinner! Tapas can be eaten, however, at all times of the day.
Other places advertise a menu outside of all the tapas varieties (many of which are seafood related).
Here is the late night taxi diner that we stopped by for dinner. I thought it was so cute that the son dressed exactly like his dad. They were both really pleasant.
The downtown pedestrian walkway La Rambla is the place to be if you're looking for casual and cheap entertainment. Many golden or bronze people-statues were there...and I even saw this invisible man waving and giving thumbs up to people! He even shook my hand after I gave him money!!
Another time, this street busker on La Rambla was making this little skeleton puppet dance to a sad song.
Grafitti is very common in the streets and alleyways of Barcelona as many shops pull down a huge garage door over their shop when it is time to close.
Here is another grafitti image i liked.
This image was drawn as a funky poster to encourage recycling. It's very creative!
This Mr. T sticker was posted everywhere. This sign especially was a good place. "No Mr. T here!"
Funny thing, the only shop that used a lot of "lite-brite" signs were drug stores. I think it's a European thing, but I still don't get why they do it.
It's strange seeing cigarette ads in the street... you just don't see them that much in Canada anymore. This company used a series of famous people to promote their brand, including as we see here, Tarantino himself!
Strange people in Barcelona. I took this picture because of the girl's gypsie pants -- they are all the rave these days in Barcelona but I think they look absolutely horrible. Ugh!
Here's an artsy shot of my friends Natasha and Sean standing by the "Bus Turistic" post... with one pass, we could get on and off this bus as we pleased (and it took us right to all the main tourist sites).
Barcelona's Cathedral. Large and typically gothic.
Here we are in the largest military museum in the Castle on Montjuic Mountain.
An interesting statue on the Olympic grounds. Natasha is cheering on the bottom right hand side because it took us 2hrs to get to this statue. There was really nothing much to see once we got there too. My suggestion, my bad.
