In this little piece of art next to the ferry docking area, the duck guides the sailor across the water.
This beautiful ship made me think of pirates (you can tell I haven't been close to the coast enough).
Before I found out that this was Fremantle's Maritime Museum, I thought they were starting to get into an opera house competition with Sydney.
Just a few buoys (or booeys as they call them here) in this beach.
Lovely views of beaches surround Rottnest island. Most of the time they are glowing with the sun's warm rays and yet somehow strangely deserted.
Looking the other way, I saw all the seaweed that the surf has brought in.
No warm island is complete without the ubiquitous palm tree.
Rottnest Island has some beautiful trees.
So dense, they look like broccoli.
Surprisingly often, many of these trees are leaning over considerably as if they grew during a particularly windy time.
Now this is a little ridiculous though.
I love the name of these leaves. Australians sure don't beat around the bush.
Ok, I'm curious. How do you repair dunes? And how do you know if dunes are broken? This sign seems very silly to me.
There are the dunes. They look fine to me.
Lots of warning signs interspersed throughout the island to remind people not to get too dreamy from the gorgeous landscape.
