The traditional Slovakian townhouse. I always think of these as jumbo houses. In Canada, all we have is houses and boxy apartment building, none of this in-between stuff.
The main clock tower -- when we walked under it, my Slovakian friend Svato said it was unlucky to talk while in the tunnel (and he was successful in keeping me quiet for a while). ;c)
An interestingly designed office building in Bratislava.
On the city's longest bridge, they decided to install a rotating restaurant. My only question to Svato was... if it's on a bridge, where do you park? (Supposedly, there's parking below the bridge... we will have to find out next time we are there)
Bratislava has some great random statues.
Here's one of a guy resting halfway out of a manhole with a sign "men at work" next to him.
This one provided some good laughs too as Svato tried on the hat.
Like it many other metropolitain cities, Bratislava was speckled with painted cows to help give the city a little extra colour and its artists a voice (or rather a moo).
This cool picture was etched on the side of a large polished granite wall.
And hey, aren't we modern with signs designating this downtown park area as a Free Hotspot for wireless laptop users.
