For those of you who love his work, you can order this lovely boardroom (or dining room) set, as you can see the tables and chairs come complete with verterbrae. ;c)
Ok, here we are doing something I never thought I would be doing -- sledding in Switzerland. And, though you may think it is wimpy, it is not for the weak of heart!
My friend actually broke his leg and I half fell off. It's crazy! You can have two or one people on it at a time (we thought two would be safer, but we forgot it is actually double the speed with two!!)
The wildest thing about it is that as you go around the mountain, you'll find that it goes straight up on one side and on the other 100% cliffs with no barricade. And these sleds are almost impossible to steer -- wow, what a thrill! (this is a picture from my swiss picture book)
The Materhorn, the most popular (and familiar) mountain in Switzerland. (this is a picture from my swiss picture book)
Even though I had never skied in my life, I was determine to at least try in Switzerland. When my friend Germaine and I went though, no ski instructors were available -- so we learnt to snowboard instead!
Germaine and I snowboarding in the Alps.
Our cute snowboarding instructor.
Christmas in Switzerland. Everyone loves falling stars. Unbelievable.
In downtown Zurich, the city has strings of light covering the middle of the street to make it seems like snow or stars falling. This looks expensive. Also, Santa looks different here. ;c)
Ok, I don't get this. Covering 1/6th of a tree with a ton of lights??? Someone please explain to me why?
The Swiss, as my swiss friend Mirjam told me, believe that coloured christmas lights are tacky and overly prefer white lights. Also, they actually put candles on their Christmas tree -- I would love to see this!!
Also, in Switzerland, each street is deemed to have a different theme with respect to lights. This one has arches and snowflakes all along it, another street will have a different pattern. How interesting!
