Hmmmm... peaceful wind, winding road, yawning stretches... this is Tofino, B.C.!
More beautiful and mountainous scenery...
Here is a Native American art gallery -- I absolutely love the art! (I even purchased a painting with hidden pictures - you need to come by my apartment to see it though!)
Here is a native american carefully carving a mask that will be sold in the shop behind him. Jeff wanted him to carve him a small token, but decided against it when he found out how much it would set him back!
Out of nowhere we found a bush of holly! Here's a shot of Jeff illegally taking some. Jeff, you should know better!
From the same "nowhere" land, we also found these HUGE plants. We have no clue what they are, but needless to say, we were impressed (and slightly intimidated!).
A neat Native American carving.
Here is our campsite... note, we put the door on the wrong side, and nailed the tent pegs in... oh well...
Welcome to Bear Country... We weren't allowed to leave anything outside of the tent and the car for fear of attracting bears!
Rainforest boardwalk for strolling. I still can't believe that parking was $8 next to a 1 hr trail. Who needs to pay taxes with these rates!?
Ok, this is why the forest in Tofino is a rain forest... moss!
Other than a blackbird, this is the only wildlife we found... a slug. We didn't even see any squirrels (I guess they all moved to Ontario!).
Twizzler tree!
Of course, lots of tree hugging was in effect during our trip. This is the biggest tree we found.
I call these cactus trees -- they have cactus like shapes.
The sun sets, the fog rises... another beautiful evening in Tofino.
More fog, beautiful forests and mountains.
Our boat trip was great too! I love these scenic shots.
Here is Jeff all dressed up in a body suit life preserver for our whale watching tour.
Here's a great shot of a whale's back (hey, it's the best I could get, ok?!)... by the way, ever smelled whale's breath? It's pretty awful!
Sean lions! Once we reached their island, they all jumped and floated near us. They still kept their safe distance unfortunately.
